Veneers
A veneer is a thin covering made of a ceramic or a resin material which is placed only over the front, visible part of the tooth. Veneers are a popular choice to improve the overall esthetics of your front teeth. They can be used for teeth that are poorly shaped or slightly crooked. They may also be placed to close spaces between the teeth or to fix chipped and worn teeth. Another common use for veneers is to whiten the teeth that cannot be whitened by bleaching. The procedure is simple, comfortable and only takes a short time to complete. Once placed, veneers are maintained with normal brushing, flossing, and routine dental recare visits.
The procedure begins by preparing your teeth by removing a small amount of enamel from the front and sides of the tooth. This makes room for the veneer. Next, an impression is taken and sent to the lab where your veneer is crafted. In the meantime, you will have a temporary restoration that will resemble your natural tooth so you can continue with your daily routine. During your second visit, we will place your final restoration. The veneer is fitted comfortably onto your tooth and permanently bonded, leaving you with a beautifully restored smile.
